Duradek — manufacturer
Waterproofing and appearance
Covers the membrane’s performance as a waterproofing layer, with
separate coverage for appearance. The length of each depends on the
assembly and the product specified for your deck, so we go through the
terms with you rather than printing a number here.
RhinoDecks — installation
Workmanship
Covers how the membrane was fitted — the seams, the terminations and the detailing at the building envelope.
Transferable
The warranty transfers with the property. If you sell, the coverage goes
to the new owner rather than expiring at the closing date — which
is worth mentioning to a buyer's inspector.
What the warranty is not
It is not a substitute for a sound structure. If the framing or
sheathing under a deck has already failed, replacing it is part of the
job rather than something the membrane warranty covers. We assess that
at the consultation and put it in the quote, so it is not a surprise
halfway through.
How long it runs
That depends on which Duradek product goes down, what it is being laid
over, and how the deck is built — a rooftop deck over a heated
room and a ground-level sundeck are not the same assembly and do not
carry the same terms. Quoting a single figure here would mean quoting
one that is wrong for most jobs, so we do not.
Speak to a specialist and we
will tell you exactly what applies to your deck, in writing, before you
commit to anything.
Getting the documents
Warranty documentation is handed over at the final walkthrough, together
with the care instructions. Ask for the specific terms before you sign
anything — with us or with anyone else.
