Deck construction
Rooftop deck building
Turn a flat roof into a private terrace with one membrane that is both the roof and the walking surface.

This is the product everything else on this page is built on. Duradek has been made since 1974, and it is still the most direct answer to a deck that leaks.
Membrane 60 mil PVC
It is a single-ply PVC sheet membrane, 60 mil thick, rolled out in full widths, so the field of the deck has no seam in it. There is no cure time and no second coat. When the crew leaves, you walk on it.
Because the waterproofing and the wearing surface are the same layer, there is no interface between them to fail. That is the structural reason vinyl outlasts a coating system: a coating sits on top of something, and eventually it delaminates from whatever it is sitting on.
Duradek is one sheet doing two jobs. It is the waterproofing and it is the floor you walk on, which means there is no seam between the two for water to find.
Where it matters most is the point the drawing shows on the left: the membrane turns up the wall and sits behind the cladding, so the drainage plane runs unbroken from the deck into the building envelope. That detail is invisible when we are finished. It is also the reason the deck is still dry long after a caulked joint would have let go.

Sundeck waterproofing
The cheapest usable square footage you can add to a house — and it roofs whatever is underneath.
Deck construction
More levels means more transitions, and every transition is somewhere water can get in.
Waterproofing systems
Built for the wind-driven rain, salt and constant damp of a West Coast waterfront lot.
