Waterproofing systems
Vinyl deck waterproofing
The core system: a single-ply 60 mil PVC sheet that is the waterproofing and the finished floor at once.

A rooftop deck sits over rooms people live in, which changes what the surface has to do. It is not a patio that happens to be high up — it is a roof you walk on, and it has to satisfy the building code as both.
Assembly Roof + deck, one membrane
Duradek is approved as a roofing membrane over habitable space and as a pedestrian walking surface in a single application. That matters because the alternative is two products stacked on each other: a waterproofing layer, then a separate wearing surface on top of it. Two products means two failure points, two warranties, and a leak that is nobody in particular's responsibility.
We install the membrane as one continuous sheet and carry it up the wall behind the cladding at the house connection. Water that lands anywhere on the deck has no seam, fastener or joint to find. The room underneath stays dry, and you gain the square footage without extending the footprint of the house.
Duradek is one sheet doing two jobs. It is the waterproofing and it is the floor you walk on, which means there is no seam between the two for water to find.
Where it matters most is the point the drawing shows on the left: the membrane turns up the wall and sits behind the cladding, so the drainage plane runs unbroken from the deck into the building envelope. That detail is invisible when we are finished. It is also the reason the deck is still dry long after a caulked joint would have let go.

Sundeck waterproofing
The cheapest usable square footage you can add to a house — and it roofs whatever is underneath.
Deck construction
More levels means more transitions, and every transition is somewhere water can get in.
